Setting The Record Straight ...

I should not have to post anything about this but I really feel the need to now. The main reason is because my roommate received an email that has upset him. As you know, he runs the Boy Oh Boi blog, I have made mention of this a couple of times. And as you all know by know, due to my recent job loss a few weeks back, I did not have the money for my half of the rent and other bills. With that, I turned to all of you, asking for donations to try and make ends meet. The reason for this is to avoid being evicted from the apartment we live in. Initially I was not having much success with this so my roommate took to his blog asking for help as well. He was even sure to mention me and my blog in his post, just so people were aware of everything. What I am trying to say is that both of us have always been upfront and honest about why we were reaching out to all of you.

This evening he received an email from someone pretty much calling us liars, going as far as stating he did not believe my roommates profile or photo. This person also believes that this is "some sort of scam". I too have received one or two emails from people asking if this was a real thing or just a scam, but they were pretty short emails. I responded that this is a very real situation for both of us, one that neither of us like being in. But this email he received was a bit longer and very pointed. I am not entirely sure why this person felt the need to send just a rude email and I am not even going to begin to try and figure that out. The person also wanted to know if this was our way of making a living off of "donations". I know that there are people or sites out there that run scams or try and make a living off of their site ... we are not those types of people. If you take a look at either of our blogs, starting from the very beginnings, you will see that. And if we were trying to make a living off of this, wouldn't that be something we started to ask for from the very beginning? Between the both of us it has only been a few weeks that we have been asking for help. We also have no intention of asking for any further assistance once we are out of this situation.

I do not know how many people my blog and his, regardless of that number, both of us have always been very honest about everything that has been going on. As I stated, this whole situation is very real! Without my half of the rent we would face eviction. And yes, we have been very lucky to have a number of people send us donations. When I first started asking I mentioned I was hoping to come up with close to $1,000. This was for my half of rent, which is $800, plus bills that I am responsible for that are building up. With the help of our readers we have come up with close to what I needed for rent but just a little short. Unfortunately I will not be able to pay my bills so things like my cellphone and cable/internet may get disconnected. But I would rather have that happen that not have a place to live. And I thank each and every one of you that have helped me out during all of this. I cannot say enough to convey how much this truly means to me. Honestly, I was not expecting any help at all. So I will be eternally grateful to all of you. But again, this is a very real situation and not something either of us would ever joke about or make up. Times are hard on a lot of people and we are not the type of people to take advantage of a situation. I am sorry if anyone feels that is what our intent was.

We all handle events in our lives differently. To put someone down because they handle it a certain way is, well, quite sad and a bit disappointing. Not everyone has a savings account they can fall back on and not everyone has the same kind of support system. To assume that we all live our lives exactly the same way is unreasonable. I have had people email me from here telling me that I "need help" and that I need to "stop whining". Again, these are things I am shocked to hear from people, especially when things are so difficult for so many people right now. I do not believe I have ever "whined" about anything. I have never been in a situation like this before and emotions run strong during it. I thought that people would understand that. I guess that I assumed too much.

Anyway, this whole post has become a bit long winded. Bottom line ... my intent was to never try and scam anyone out of anything. The money that has been donated will definitely be going to my landlord this week, short as it is. And whatever comes of being short, well, I will just have to deal with and try and figure something else out. And, just an FYI, our landlord has a very strict rent policy. Even though it is short, but still somewhat paid, if they do not receive the full amount within a couple days after the due date, we are served with a 3 day notice stating that we need to pay it in full or they begin the eviction process. So again, it is VERY real.

But I want to say thank you once again to everyone that has helped me out during all of this. I feel very blessed to have followers like you and will remain eternally grateful. I will probably lose some followers after this post and I will be sad to see you go. But I hope the rest of you stay with me. Thank you so very much, from the bottom of my heart!

** I am also now removing the Donation button. If you still wish to donate, please email me. **

Happy SF Pride Day!

I want to wish all of you a Happy Pride Day! No matter where you are celebrating this year! Looks like it's going to be a hot day for it. Forecast for today is 91 and sunny!

I will not be attending this year, not much in the celebratory mood ... if you didn't already guess that. I went the first year I lived here and it was ok. When I lived in Chicago I went a couple of years and it was never really all that great. I remember one year there were huge gaps in between floats and stuff, it left people wondering if it was over. Since then I do not venture out to it. I also am not a big fan of huge crowds, especially when they are all trying to get on the same train you are! :)

Be safe and drink responsibly! (If you get pics of hot naked guys, be sure to send them my way!)

Early Bird Gets The Worm ...

I have been up since 3am ... that's crazy! I'm not entirely sure I got any sleep last night. It was one of those nights where I kept tossing & turning. Each time I looked at the clock, an hour had passed, sometimes two. But I still didn't feel like I slept. When I was finally awake, my mind started racing, thinking about everything thats going on. Needless to say, I figured it was a lost cause to try & fight my way back to sleep. Still worried about trying to make ends meet at the end of this month, which is the middle of next week. Still a bit freaked.

On top of everything, we had to take the dog to the vet yesterday because she's been itching alot & has been losing some hair in spots and, every so often, bumps appear on her back. Vet ruled out fleas & other possible bugs & ended up giving us pills to help out her skin. So that cut into the money I had towards rent. It's never just one thing ... they come in pairs it seems.

With that being said, you all get to benefit from my early morning rise & shine with some pics to help you rise this morning.

Saturday Sacky Goodness ...

I hope you are all having a great weekend and are outside enjoying the nice weather. It is pretty warm here, but I know it is warmer elsewhere. Not a big fan of the heat myself. I have been trying to spend more time outside, generally when walking the dog. I have extended our walks to last anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours. We usually walk around the neighborhood and then visit one of the two tennis courts. With the nice weather though, they usually have people in them. That is the only place I can take her, having no money. There are no local dog parks, well, there is one but it is not walking distance. We usually go there when I reserve a Zipcar ... Have not been able to do that in a month. But some play is better than none for her. We all need a little play ....

Enjoy this afternoon's post and get out and try and enjoy the weekend!

A Week Has Past ...

Sorry that it has been a week since my last post. Things are still not any better on my end and I am having a hard time getting motivated to do much of anything.

Anyway ... enjoy today's post.
