The First Day. A Retrospect ...

Day 1 is done! It was really hard for me to get up at 6am and get ready since I am so used to getting up at 8am, walking the dog then climbing back into bed and sleeping until any time between 1 and 4pm. The morning started off crummy. I realized how much weight I have put on since leaving my last job at the end of August. My jeans were almost impossible to button and my shirts were tighter than normal. Regardless, I fought the urge to give up and dragged my ass to the train. The morning chill helped wake me up.

The train ride in was not as bad as I remember, it was not as packed as I remember it to be. I just focused on playing 'Plock' on my iPhone. The ride in went faster because of that. I told myself that once I started working I was also going to do something about losing weight. Once my finances are back in order I am going to join a gym and then go before work each day. In the meantime I have decided that I am going to get off of BART about 4 stops before I need to and then walk to work. So I started that this morning. It felt good to be part of the SF working crowd again.

On a sidenote ... while listening to my music, the song 'Express' came up and I was listening to that while walking with crowds of people, I felt like dancing. I felt just like the scene in the movie 'Burlesque' where Christina is walking through the city and practicing dance moves. I know ... gay! :)

I got to work 15 minutes early but then started orientation at 9:30. This was then followed by over the phone training and getting the hang of the position. The people that I am going to be working with are really nice. I can see myself becoming very happy with the position. I am glad that I was given this opportunity. Most of my day was spent familiarizing myself with most of the tools I will be using and such. The next couple of weeks are going to be like this as well. I am very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.

With that being said, I think I will stop on that note. I have rambled. But I said I would update you and I do my best to keep my promises. Thanks for all of the well wishes! I will definitely keep you all up to date. Hope you had a great Monday!

Hi Ho Hi Ho ...

Well, today is the day. The day I start my new job. As soon as I post this, I am off. Not feeling too good about myself though. I put on too much wait while being unemployed. I barely fit in my clothes and I can just see the fat in my face. It is quite depressing and really puts a damper on how I am approaching this day. All I can hope is that I am kept busy today so that I do not think about it. I will let you all know how it went later tonight.

Have a great week!

I hope that you all have a great weekend and are able to take some time for yourselves and relax after all the family and shopping from the last couple of days! Have a great day fellas!

Black Friday ...

Once again I was up at about 3am. You would think that I was up to partake in the day after Thanksgiving shopping savings. Unfortunately that is so not the case. It is partly due to this recurring dream starring Lady Gaga, whom I love, as well as my body craving sugar (so I got up to have some pumpkin pie and a Coke). So bad but so good! I wonder how many of you are up this early to shop or already standing in line somewhere just to get in. I do not have the money to do that. If I did though ... still not sure I would do it. I can hear the wind and feel the cold outside. Brrr ...

Stay warm this morning and don't get trampled on!

Happy Thanksgiving ...

Happy Turkey Day fellas! Tis' the day men gather on Craigslist to post some turkey related ad sex ad. (i.e. 'Stuff My Turkey Daddy', 'Stuff My Face' or 'Come Stuff Me On Turkey Day'). I have no doubt that is only the beginning of some examples we will see today. Can't wait until the 'Unwrap This Package' season begins. :)

The roommate and I are doing our usual. Safeway had a sale on any turkey, 16lbs and above, for $6.77. A bargain right? Well we got an 18 lb turkey just for the two of us. Well, the dog gets a small holiday helping as well. We both love turkey leftovers! Since my cash flow is close to nothing at the moment, work wise, we had to keep it cheap. Pretty sure we achieved that.

However you are spending this day, remember to be thankful for the friends or family you spend it with. I am very thankful for my roommate and our beautiful dogter (you know, like daughter, but a dog). I am also very thankful for all of you that follow this blog and especially thankful for the small handful of people that have donated to help me get through this rough patch.

Bring on the turkey comas!

Question ...

Does anyone that has a Blogger blog know of any way to block a certain user from sending you comments? I keep getting spammed by someone with the name 'khmer' something or other asking me to add their blog. I have rejected 16 messages/comments from them already. I have to look into the Blogger options a bit more but thought I would ask. It is fucking annoying!

Just For Fun ...

Even Shaggy has low hangers! :) Cartoon images like this normally don't do anything for me but I have had a long time crush on Freddy! (Thanks to my roommate, owner of BoyOhBoi, for sending this to me!)

Hope you are all gearing up for Turkey Day!

Having Trouble Sleeping ...

Have been up since about 3:30am and I cannot fall asleep. As soon as I wake up, my mind races with anything and everything. Let me tell you ... I so cannot wait to start working again so that I can focus on change rather than what has hindered me. Anyway, figured I would give you all something to start your Tuesday off right. I took a few more sleeping pills (OTC brand so I have to take more than 2) and I am waiting for them to kick in. Hopefully the sound of the rain will help me get to sleep. However, living right along the BART tracks is so not helping that. Man! You would think after a year in this unit that I would be used to it. Anyway ... have a great Tuesday guys!
