You're Fired! That was the message I was greeted with this morning as I arrived to work. Yup ... just a week and a half of becoming employed, I am back to square one. This time around though it is even scarier. I was pulled into the HR office and told that 'plans have changed' and that I was no longer needed. See, I was brought in to take over responsibilities of an office in Canada. They were bringing these duties stateside. Well, they decided it was not in the companies best interest to do this ... right now. Since I was specifically hired for that reason, they could not place me elsewhere. You can only imagine my reaction to this ....
Yup ... that is pretty much it. I have no idea what I am going to do aside of start looking again. I am only getting one week and two days of pay, that is not going to cover anything. I am quite sad about all of this. I was enjoying the job. I knew that it was not my "ideal" position but knew I had to do whatever came my way because I needed the money. Now I don't even have that. My stomach has been in knots since I came home. I just don't know anymore ....

Jason, I’m soooooooooo sorry for your job loss, it was really mean to just let you go without some sort so severance even if it was only a couple of weeks.
May the immediate solution is to try and get hired at some retail store for the Christmas rush, Target, K-Mart I know are looking for temp hire.
Just don’t get discourages you are a bright young man, so go get them tiger!!!!!!!!.

Wow! I just read your post. i'm so sorry to hear that. I wish I could give you a job or some money, but I too was unemployed for a short time frame as well. Hang in there and I would check out UPS. They are looking for part time driver helpers. Maybe in your area. Hugs!

I think there is an old show tune that goes "Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again." This termination was not your fault; you did nothing wrong. Don't let it get you down. Theguy here who mentioned seeking temp Christmas work - that is a good idea, just to keep some money going, and to keep your mind off of negative thinking. Keep telling yourself YES I CAN.
