The First Day. A Retrospect ...

Day 1 is done! It was really hard for me to get up at 6am and get ready since I am so used to getting up at 8am, walking the dog then climbing back into bed and sleeping until any time between 1 and 4pm. The morning started off crummy. I realized how much weight I have put on since leaving my last job at the end of August. My jeans were almost impossible to button and my shirts were tighter than normal. Regardless, I fought the urge to give up and dragged my ass to the train. The morning chill helped wake me up.

The train ride in was not as bad as I remember, it was not as packed as I remember it to be. I just focused on playing 'Plock' on my iPhone. The ride in went faster because of that. I told myself that once I started working I was also going to do something about losing weight. Once my finances are back in order I am going to join a gym and then go before work each day. In the meantime I have decided that I am going to get off of BART about 4 stops before I need to and then walk to work. So I started that this morning. It felt good to be part of the SF working crowd again.

On a sidenote ... while listening to my music, the song 'Express' came up and I was listening to that while walking with crowds of people, I felt like dancing. I felt just like the scene in the movie 'Burlesque' where Christina is walking through the city and practicing dance moves. I know ... gay! :)

I got to work 15 minutes early but then started orientation at 9:30. This was then followed by over the phone training and getting the hang of the position. The people that I am going to be working with are really nice. I can see myself becoming very happy with the position. I am glad that I was given this opportunity. Most of my day was spent familiarizing myself with most of the tools I will be using and such. The next couple of weeks are going to be like this as well. I am very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.

With that being said, I think I will stop on that note. I have rambled. But I said I would update you and I do my best to keep my promises. Thanks for all of the well wishes! I will definitely keep you all up to date. Hope you had a great Monday!
